Restaurant Procedures
All employees must be familiar with the restaurant procedures. New employees are required to watch “The Founders” 4:18 minutes video prior to employment. Click QR Code on employee application.
ServeSafe
The owners, administrator and managers are to monitor the kitchen procedures so the restaurant will be in compliance with the Health Department rules and regulations. Absolutely no one is to change what the owner, administrator, and managers set in place as it relates to kitchen procedures.
Kitchen & Cooking Shed Videoing & Taking Photos
There is not to be any videoing or taking photos inside the kitchen and cooking shed area where the food is being prepared, cooked or holding until sold. Only the owners are allowed to video for marketing and social media awareness.
Premises
If you leave your work site for the restroom, convenient store or your vehicle you must ask the kitchen manager before during so. At no time should an employee be “Missing In Action” from their workstation. Lil Animals owners are God-fearing and to protect the business model Lil Animals is a non-sexual verbiage in nature, smoke, drug and alcohol-free zone. Profanity is never used! IMMEDIATE TERMINATION IF EMPLOYEE IS INTOXICATED OR FOUND TO BE HIGH ON DRUGS WHILE ON CLOCK!
Washing Hands
You must wash your hands after phone and restroom usage upon reentering the kitchen area even if you answer a text message or returning from break hands are to be washed. Uniform & Kitchen Aprons All employees must wear the Lil Animals T-Shirt and apron. Once you have used an apron and it’s dirty, please place the dirty apron inside the white striped cloth bag near where the clean aprons are hanging. Packagers are to wear head bonnet to prevent hair particles in food.
Take Out Orders
If we are super busy you may be asked to take out an order. It’s the responsibility of the baggers to take out orders but there will be times if the bagger is busy that the cashier, packager, scooper, dish washer or cook will need to take out an order. When taking out order upon identifying the vehicle YOU MUST ask for ticket number.
Tips: Addendum
All tips including dining area, buffing tables and curb side orders belong to either the upstairs or downstairs cashier. If you are given a tip, you are to give the tip to the upstairs or downstairs cashier. Packager, scooper, dish washer or cook is to never ask customers for a tip.
Food Discount & Give Aways
No employee is allowed to taste test, discount or give away food. Employees are not allowed to discount food for family and friends. If there is excess of crawfish at the end of the night, it is the owner or admin decision of food to be given away or taken home if necessary. Employees are not to eat food scrapping unless authorized.
Employees must pay first or do an “I Owe You” payroll deduction receipt before eating (no running tab). Manager is to place payroll deduction receipt in blue container in office. Employees are not to drink the can drinks or bottled water from the drink cooler or refrigerator. Water cooler is near the upstairs register. Employee’s discount is 25% of total bill after a sixty (60) day probation period. Desserts are not discounted.
Restrooms
After using the restroom, please flush the toilet, and wash hands. Please clean up behind yourself.
Clocking In
No one is to clock in early unless instructed by the owners, administrator and/or manager. Employee is not to clock out at end of shift until checking with kitchen manager.
Business Phone
Only assigned personnel (owners, admin managers and cashiers) is to answer the phone unless authorized to do so.
Cell Phone Usage
To eliminate as many mistakes as possible no personal phone is to be used (calling or texting) while taking order, packaging, bagging, cooking and cleaning crawfish. Employees are allowed to make personal phone calls, text, etc. when there is down time and when there aren’t any restaurant chores.

If a personal issue arises with employee that will cause phone usage you are to inform either the owner, admin or manager prior to phone usage. All phones are kept in your purse or tote bag when clocked in and can be only used during down time. Electronic devices, apple watches and ear pods are not allowed in employee’s ear in the kitchen and cooking shed area but can be used during your break and down time.
What Is Considered To Be Down Time
Take care of personal needs: 1) restroom breaks, 2) cell phone usage, etc. When returning back to workstation hands must be washed. ONLY THE OWNER, ADMIN AND MANAGER IS TO DETERMINE DOWN TIME.
Employee Breaks
During high volume employees’ breaks are not prohibited. There is a 15-minute break for employees every three hours. Permission to take break and leave workstation is communicated with admin. and/or kitchen manager. Due to low staffing only one employee can take break at a time. If employee need a restroom break, he/she must communicate with admin. and/or kitchen manager before leaving workstation. Smoking breaks is designated near the wood fence in the right rear of the restaurant.
Employees are not allowed to eat in the kitchen during breaks it’s against the ServeSafe regulations. Employees can use the break room area to take breaks. After break employee is to clean area and discard trash.
Employee Complaint
Employees do not complain to other employees about other employees. If a conflict or discrepancy arises bring it to the attention of the owner or admin. Gossiping and disrespect to the owners, managers and other employees could initiate write up, days off without pay or termination. When addressing other employees, you are to check your attitude to make sure you aren’t too aggressive in making a request and/or responding to other employees.
Employees are not to discuss restaurant issues outside of the confinement of the restaurant. If this is the case, and it causes issues at the restaurant you will be terminated immediately.
Restaurant Disturbance
In case of restaurant disturbance in the dining area, drive-thru and parking lot employees are to lock the kitchen or dining door if necessary and politely close the drive-thru window. Then the owner should be made aware of the disturbance. It is the discretion of the owner if the police are to be called. Employees are to remain in their work area or break room for protection unless the owner ask for assistance.
Employee Shift
Once employee is clocked in employee is to begin assigned duties. Please take care of personal situations before clocking in. Eating as soon as employee clock in is prohibited. Please eat prior to clocking in. You are to catch up on responsibilities: 1) check supplies, 2) clean workstation, and etc. When clocking in and clocking out employee should remain at clover station until the process is completed to avoid next day shift corrections.

Employee can not call in the day of your shift unless you have a doctor's
excuse or approved by admin. Must give a week notice for days off unless
approved by admin.
Employee Visitations
Nonpaying guest is to respect you are at work when you clock in, while we are open and during clean up. If you invite a friend to dine-in or pick up order, you cannot neglect your workspace responsibilities. No One Should Be Looking For You!
Closing
The kitchen clean-up is at 8pm unless it’s high volume and the cooking shed closes when given instruction. It is not the cook decision when to close the cooking shed. Cook should consult with management. Door Dash, & Uber Eats orders closes at 8:30 pm. All drink items, plastic & brown/black bags, butters, menu cards, etc., is to be restocked for the following day.
Medical Needs
Employees must make owner or administration aware if they have medical issues that will prevent them from their work obligations.
Grooming & Personal Hygiene
Make sure to be well groomed, hygiene mindfulness and clean when arriving to work. If hair long, make sure it’s pinned up with head gear to avoid droppings in food. There are not to be no excessive long fingernails & jewelry on wrist or fingers except for wedding ban when packaging and/or bagging.
Restaurant Areas
While cashiering, packaging or cooking, employees’ guest or customers are not allowed near kitchen area, break room and cooking shed area.Employee Parking Employees are to park at the A. B. Park across the street to allow parking spaces for customers. At the end of the shift a male employee will accompany the female employee to their vehicles.
Main Office
Employees are not to access the owner’s office without permission.
Payroll
Payroll is issued on Sundays at end of shift unless you are off on Sunday’s payroll is available after 6pm. There are no payroll advancements. Employee hourly wage is not to be discussed with other employees.
